Who are we?
Passionate community members, non-profit organizations, and various individuals all seeking the same goal: to stop the destruction and subsequent development of the 7000-acre forest known as the McKay Tract in Cutten, California.
The land is currently owned by the timber company Green Diamond Resource Company -- Humboldt County is seeking to rezone the land from timber to residential for development purposes (ie. 5000+ homes, malls, shopping centers, etc.) at the expense of critical wildlife habitat, community recreation, and ancient trees.

Our Requests to Green Diamond
Follow Humboldt Redwood Company's (HRC) example in preserving Old Growth trees
- Full protection of all Northern Spotted Owl sites
- Replace clear-cutting silviculture methods with selection
- Postpone all active/pending Timber Harvest Plans in the McKay Tract until revisions are made with community input
- Abandon land conversion plans from timber to residential
